Ontario’s 2025/26 COVID-19 vaccine program is here.

Below are the key details to help you plan your vaccination:

Vaccines Available this Fall

​

• Moderna Spikevax (mRNA) – age 6 months+

• Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty (mRNA) – age 5 years+
  (Both are safe, effective, and interchangeable.

• Novavax is not available this year.​

​

Who Gets the Vaccine First:

​

• High-Risk Group 1 (2 doses per year – Fall + Spring)

  • Adults 80+

  • Seniors in long-term care/congregate living

  • People 6m+ who are immunocompromised

  • Adults 65–79 (fall dose required; spring dose optional if higher risk)

  • Indigenous adults 55+ & household members 55+​

• High-Risk Group 2 & Priority Populations (1 dose per year – This Fall)

  • Pregnant people

  • Indigenous under 55

  • Kids ≤17 in congregate care

  • Health-care workers & underserved communities

  • Children 6m–4y

  • People working closely with animals (farm, poultry, vets, etc.)

• General Population (6 months+)

             Eligible starting October 27, 2025

• ​Timing: 

             Fall 2025 (Sept–Jan):

             High-risk & priority groups start right away;

             General population starts Oct 27

Why Vaccinate?

• Protects against severe illness, hospitalization, and death

• Updated vaccines are matched to circulating strains

• Can be given at the same time as flu or RSV shots
