Our Story
Carl Horowitz opened Carl's Pharmacy in 1952 when Port Credit was a small, sleepy community filled with orchards and trailer homes for weekend vacationers from Toronto.
We intend to carry on Carl’s pioneering spirit into the future. We strive to be more than just your local drug store, medical clinic, or pharmacy.
We will continue to provide you with the best value for the health care products and services we offer. Delivered with a smile. No extra charge.
We are your community drug store whose main purpose is supporting your health with; over the counter medications, prescription medications, other related health products and services all tailored to you.
The Story behind our slogan:
Our store first opened its doors to the local community of Port Credit in 1952. Subsequently, we joined the IDA national group of pharmacies, which was established in 1932.
To reflect both our deep commitment to Port Credit (1952) and the extensive healthcare experience of IDA (1932), we adopted the slogan:
"Taking care of Port Credit since 1932 "
We firmly believe in this. Caring for you and your family here in Mississauga with the utmost professionalism and care. We are a proud member of the I.D.A family of pharmacies who have been offering care to Canadians coast to coast since 1932.
We know your health. We know what medications you need, or may forget you need in order to stay living an active and healthy lifestyle. We are conveniently located in the middle of Port Credit, Mississauga, a quick drive from Toronto.
You don’t have to drive several kilometers to access our services. Most of our staff live and work in the area.
Collectively we speak: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Arabic, and Vietnamese
Our staff all support local businesses. The income we earn doesn’t go to a foreign national head office. It stays here, much of it supporting local businesses.
We are truly grateful for our longtime patients and welcome new patients with open arms.

Meet The Team
Nick
Owner, CEO, and Head Pharmacist
Nick is our head pharmacist. He's the third generation of pharmacists -Owners at Carl's pharmacy since its inception in 1932.
Nick has dedicated his 22 year career to passionately assist his patients. He is also a licensed pharmacist in three countries.
Before joining Carl's team Nick was the head Pharmacist at Shoppers Drug Mart in west Ontario.
Nick has also held many senior positions in several multinational pharmaceutical companies.
Nick is a certified injector. He offers almost all kinds of injections to our patients at Carl's
Mirette
Partner, CFO, and Rph Pharmacist
Mirette has been working at Carl's Pharmacy since 2016.
Mirette, as a pharmacist, specializes in Adults/adolescents with depression, anxiety, ADD and ADHD disorders.
Mirette provide in-depth counselling regarding TMS treatment for the above mentioned disorders
Mirette also manages Carl's Front Store.
Our pharmacy and front store teams work together to provide excellent customer service.
Mirette also promotes our community wellness programs in hospitals and nursing homes.
Dina
Rph Pharmacist
Dina has been practicing pharmacy for almost ten years.
She's our expert in methadone treatments, smoking cessation and diabetes.
Dina loves to serve her community.
Huba
Pharmacist Assistant
Huba has all her passion for healthcare. She has degree in Doctorate of Pharmacy from back-home.
Huba worked at SDM for 2 years…
She loves being a part of Carl’s team now!
Stefanie
Front Store Associate, Pharmacist Assistant
Stefanie is a student at Port Credit Secondary School who has been at Carl’s since summer of 2023. She is a competitive soccer player playing at a provincial level. She loves travelling, baking, and spending time with friends & family!
Shefali
Registered Holistic Nutritionist
Shefali is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist with over 12 years of experience.
Shefali specializes in Women’s health, anti-aging, hair, skin and nails health, weight loss, post Covid recovery, and plant-based nutrition.
Shefali has a goal to empower people by providing the information and motivation needed to create a wellness plan that works!

Meet Alessia! She has been working at Carl’s Pharmacy since 2019. She is a student at McMaster University in the Life Sciences program and after university she hopes to obtain her masters in Speech Language Pathology.
